In an Interview with Hsiao J. Chiu, Managing Partner

1.     In which market(s) does your company operate? What products / services does it offer?
We support our clients - primarily SMES from the D-A-CH countries - nationwide in employing key personnel, including positions at the specialist level. Furthermore with our Talent Development Program we offer customized solutions to further develop employees in critical skill areas.

2.     How long has your company been active in China? In which locations in China is it currently active?
JP, based in Shanghai, has been officially registered in China as a licensed HR consultancy since 2004.

3.     Why is your company also an attractive employer in Greater China?
There are currently no concrete plans to expand our presence in these regions. Our growth strategy is directed toward the Chinese mainland, mid-term, with locations in tier 1 & 2 cities.

4.    What skills are you looking for in a candidate for your China business?
Motivated, loyal, competent candidates with integrity and the right attitude toward their jobs as well as mercantile and technical functions. Of course the profile of a Chinese candidate who, for instance, has also mastered the German language, is empirically very interesting for our primarily German-speaking clients.

5.     Why are candidates with an EU-China background especially interesting for your company?
As personnel consultants, we work with people above all else. Our clients expect us to understand their (European) demands and to adapt to the local determining factors. At the same time they trust that we will not only identify the right candidates, but also extensively assess them and make a pre-selection. In short: We must be able to think both European and Chinese. Insight and experience in these vastly different cultures are a valuable advantage to us for this reason.
