In an Interview with Tanja Friederichs, Vice President Human Resources bei der PULS Group

1.     In which market(s) does your company operate? What products / services do you offer?
PULS is specialized in the development and manufacture of DIN rail power supplies, with rich experience. Without our products, there will be a standstill in industry, and trains cannot run. This is because our power supplies get electrical systems moving and are successfully implemented in building technology, mechanical engineering, and many other industrial fields.

2.     How long has your company been active in China? Where does PULS locate in China?
We have had a production facility in China since 2006 - however, we have actually been operating in China for much longer! Sales of our power supplies are booming, naturally as a result of our successful sales locations in China and Singapore. 

We receive great feedback on our sustainable approach around the world, and of course in China as well. Why is that? PULS stands for fairness and transparency when selecting new employees. We arrange our workplaces and customer relations in such a way that everybody is happy and enjoys working with us. 

Our architectural style is also defined by sustainability: in 2010 we won the Leed-Gold Award for our production facility in Suzhou! And we have continued to build our plant, in July of 2016, we broke ground on our second plant!

3.     Why is your company also an attractive employer in Greater China?
Family and friendly coexistence is important to everybody - everybody should be happy not just in their private lives, but also when they work with us. PULS is currently proving itself to be a successful mid-sized company with a lot of heart by presenting its new workplace design at our headquarters in Munich. Everybody can incorporate their own desires, and personal needs are considered, allowing for an attractive and modern work environment for everybody. Need a few examples? In Munich we are constructing a "Druid workshop" for our developers where meticulous work and experimentation is encouraged, we cook and communicate together at the marketplace and work industriously on a project in our calm, cozy library with fireplace.
But there are a few things brewing in Suzhou as well: creative meeting rooms, the application of modern robotic technology, unforgettable company parties, and our modern social collaboration network never fail to excite.

4.    What competencies are you looking for in a candidate for your China business?
The currently vacant position of Application Engineer is particularly exciting. If you have a Master's degree in electrical engineering or automation, electrical skills, and a strong interest in automation technology, then you are the right applicant for us! After a 3-6month initial training period in Munich - the home of Oktoberfest - you will gain interesting cultural and corporate experience as you start your career in Suzhou.
