In an Interview with Werner Paulin, International Sales Manager – Greater China

1.     In which market(s) does your company operate? What products / services does it offer?
B&R is a leading company in the automation industry. We are not fixed in a specific industrial field but rather work with market leaders in virtually all sectors. With our solutions, machine and facility builders increase their competability. Our product portfolio encompasses all relevant automation components such as panels, industrial PCs, controls, engines, motors, integrated safety technology and software. In addition we offer the customers counsel and assistance during project design and implementation.

2.     How long has your company been active in China? In which locations in China is it currently active?
B&R China was founded in 1996 as a 100% affiliate, with its headquarters in Shanghai. We have since been assisting our customers from 10 offices: Shanghai, Shenyang, Beijing, Xi'an, Wuhan, Chengdu, Jinan, Ningbo, Guangzhou and Taipei.

3.     Why is your company also an attractive employer in Greater China?
B&R relies on Chinese employees at all levels in China. Via our affinity for technology and customers, our employees are provided an exciting and diverse working environment. Cross-departmental relocation and advancement possibilities are offered due to the size of the company in China. Despite our size we possess a familiar operating climate through which our employees can also get together outside of working hours and organize events together.

4.     What skills are you looking for in a candidate for your China business?
We are seeking dedicated, independent and goal-oriented employees with a technical background. Preferably with a degree in the fields of automation technology, mechatronics, electrical engineering or similar.

5.     Why are candidates with an EU-China background especially interesting for your company?
Interpersonal relationships are fiscally decisive not only in retail but also in the capital goods industry. The headquarters of B&R are in Austria, in the heart of Europe.
