Pre-sales Technical Engineer

Position overview
As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you will serve as the technical interface between customers, sales teams, and internal engineering departments. You will support the sales process by providing technical solutions, system designs, and professional presentations for battery energy storage projects.

Job responsibilities 

1. Provide technical support during the sales process for battery and energy storage solutions
2. Analyze customer requirements and develop customized technical solutions
3. Prepare system configurations, technical proposals, and solution presentations
4. Support customer meetings, workshops, and technical discussions
5. Coordinate closely with R&D, engineering, quality, and project teams
6. Participate in bid/tender processes and technical clarifications
7. Support product demonstrations and pilot projects
8. Stay updated on battery technologies, market trends, and regulatory requirements
9. Has organized and delivered European energy storage projects, and is familiar with European energy storage market trends, certifications, and cutting-edge energy storage product technologies; responsible for navigating pre-sales technical issues and assisting in resolving commissioning problems during project delivery.

Technical Focus Areas 

1. Battery cells, modules, and PACK systems
2. Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
3. Inverters, EMS, and grid integration
4. Safety concepts and compliance (CE, UN38.3, IEC standards)
5. Thermal management and system reliability

Expected qualifications & degrees and Professional experience 

1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
2. Experience in battery, energy storage, renewable energy, or power electronics industries
3. Strong technical understanding and solution-oriented mindset
4. Experience in customer-facing technical roles is highly preferred
5. Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
6. At least 1 years of technical experience in the same industry

Language 

1. Fluent in English (written and spoken)
2. German proficiency is highly preferred
3. Chinese language or French, Spanish, Italian skills are a strong advantage

3. Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
