Aim of the position:

This position will aim to ensure legal and regulatory compliance within the Employer’s work organization, by contributing to the Employer’s professional legal tasks with respect to Employer’s business interests, providing legal representation of the Employer when required, cooperating with external counsels and ensuring that all regulatory and compliance risks affecting the Employer’s business are identified and addressed in a professional and timely manner.

This positiondirectly reports to the EU Legal Manager. This is an opportunity to be part of the future of the electric vehicle industry and its road toward de-carbonization. 


Job Functions / Responsibilities / Tasks:

  • you will be responsible for three distinct matters within the Employer’s work organization, namely, document drafting and reviewing, in-house counseling upon request and corporate housekeeping, regulatory and legal compliance
  • Within the scope of the above, you will be required from time to time to assist in the drafting and preparation of contract templates and the periodic review of existing internal and/or external templates, drafting various internal policies for the Employer, offering legal support and counsel to various colleagues on legal questions arising in connection with the Employer’s business activities, constantly monitor all relevant legislative changes to local, state and federal level German and EU laws and report such changes in a timely manner to your direct superior, the Employer’s general manager as well as other stakeholders, maintain professional relations with external parties such as the Employer’s customers, subsidiaries, suppliers, subcontractors, directly employed and expatriated workers as well as the acting authorities, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and compliance requirements (including, but not limited to, GDPR, Supply Chain Due Diligence, Whistleblowing and NIS2 requirements)


Expected qualifications & degrees:

  • Diploma in law, obtained at a German university of high professional esteem, bar exam is a plus
  • Native in German, fluent in English speaking and writing, conversational level in Mandarin is a plus
  • A proficient level of knowledge and skill in MS Office, user level IT skills expected
  • Driver’s license preferred

 

Professional experience:

  • Min 3-5 years of experience in legal practice, either in an attorney-in-law (Reschtsanwalt) or an in-house counsel (Unternehmensjurist) position  
  • German bar exam good to have
