DIY Retail Operations Specialist

Location: Düsseldorf office

Reporting to: Head of DIY EU

Department: Sales Department

Position Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and hands-on DIY Retail Operations Specialist to support daily operations and ensure smooth order fulfillment and delivery processes for our key DIY retail accounts across Europe. Working closely with our China headquarters, logistics partners, and clients such as Bauhaus and OBI, you will play a critical role in driving operational excellence and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Order Processing & Fulfillment Coordination

• Receive, validate, and enter orders from DIY retail clients into internal systems
• Coordinate with HQ and 3PL partners to ensure accurate and on-time shipment of orders

2. Delivery & Logistics Tracking

• Monitor the full logistics chain, including warehouse release, customs clearance, ocean freight, and final delivery
• Communicate with warehousing and transport providers to support timely and efficient deliveries

3. Retail Partner Support & Issue Handling

• Act as a key contact for operational queries from DIY retailers
• Resolve delivery-related issues such as stock-outs, delays, damages, returns, and replacements

4. Process Improvement & System Support

• Identify opportunities to improve order, inventory, and delivery processes
• Support system integration tasks and assist in UAT (user acceptance testing) as needed

5. Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare regular operational reports (e.g., delivery rates, inventory turnover)
• Assist in tracking logistics costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, International Trade, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in retail operations, logistics, or supply chain, ideally in DIY, FMCG, or supermarket sectors
• Familiar with the operational practices of major European DIY retailers (e.g., Bauhaus, OBI, Leroy Merlin)
• Fluent in English; German is a strong plus
• Proficient in Excel and comfortable with EDI systems
• Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills
• Proactive, results-oriented, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment
