I. Position Overview

This is a core management role for XYZ Robotics' German subsidiary. You will not only be responsible for financial compliance and tax planning in Germany and the European region but also serve as the "Office General Manager," leading the administration and HR teams to ensure the smooth operation and localization of the German headquarters. We are seeking a versatile professional with a deep financial background, exceptional leadership, and familiarity with the German business environment. 

II. Core Responsibilities

  • Finance & Tax Compliance:Daily Operations: Oversee financial operations of the German subsidiary, including BWA/SuSa reports, VAT advance notifications, corporate income tax filings, and preparation of annual financial statements. 
  • Business Support: Manage bank guarantee applications, liaise with local German banks and client legal departments to ensure smooth sales processes. 
  • External Liaison: Manage relationships with German tax consultants (Steuerberater) and external agencies; represent the company in interactions with tax authorities (Finanzamt), customs, and the commercial register (Handelsregister). 
  • Cross-border Planning: Design tax schemes for EU and non-EU (incl. UK) cross-border transactions, handle transfer pricing documentation, and support consolidated group reporting. 
  • Office Management & Operations
  • Team Leadership: Lead and evaluate the administrative team, overseeing the "Supply Chain & General Affairs Specialist" and "HR & Recruitment Specialist". 
  • Admin Systems: Establish policies for the German office, including travel policies and procurement processes. 
  • Facilities Management: Responsible for office site selection, renovation, maintenance, and property management liaison to ensure compliance with German statutory safety standards. 
  • HR Oversight: Supervise local employment contracts, social security contributions, and labor law compliance. 
  • Business Finance Partnering:Deeply involve in front-line business, providing support for commercial term reviews, accounts receivable management, project economic analysis, and pricing decisions. 


III. Requirements
Essential Criteria:

  • Education & Quals: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Taxation;5+ years of finance experience. 
  • Local Experience: 5+ years of experience in an independent management role within the German subsidiary of a Chinese or multinational enterprise. 
  • Professional Skills: Proficient in HGB (German GAAP), German tax laws, and EU VAT systems; capable of independent closing and filing. 
  • Management: 3+ years of experience leading Admin, HR, or Operations teams; excellent cross-functional coordination skills. 
  • Languages: Fluent in English (working language); Proficiency in Chinese is a plus. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cross-border trade finance within B2B industrial or robotics sectors. 
  • Experience in establishing a European office from scratch ("0 to 1") for a Chinese enterprise. 
  • Familiarity with German labor laws, worker protection, and workplace safety regulations. 
  • Experience with SAP systems or IPO preparation. 
  • Practical experience with client bank guarantees (Bankbuergschaft).
