Location: Leipzig

Job responsibilities:

1. Fire Prevention and Safety Managemen

  • Establish and maintain the fire safety management system
  • Conduct fire risk assessments for factories and battery energy storage warehouses
  • Develop and update fire prevention and emergency response plans

2. Regulatory Compliance and Government Liaison

  • Ensure compliance with German and EU fire safety regulations
  1. Landesbauordnung
  2. Arbeitsstättenverordnung
  3. DGUV 
  • Act as the main contact for fire authorities and local regulatory bodies

3. Battery and Energy Storage Scenario–Specific Management (Key Focus)

  • Assess and manage fire risks related to lithium-ion batteries and energy storage systems
  • Review fire compartmentation, suppression systems, ventilation and temperature control
  • Support fire safety planning and acceptance of new facilities

4. Training & Internal Support

  • Organize fire safety training and drills for employees
  • Mentor internal fire fighters
  • Support cross-functional collaboration within the EHS team

Professional Requirements
  • Engineering, safety, fire protection or related professional background
  • Holding a German-recognized Brandschutzbeauftragter certificate (required)
  • 3+ years of experience in fire safety or EHS related work
  • Those with experience in fire prevention for batteries, energy storage systems, chemical or industrial warehouses will be given priority.
  • Familiar with fire safety audit, inspection and rectification processes
  • German: B2–C1 (can communicate independently with Behörden)
  • English: Good work ability
