Financial Accounting

Location: München

Job responsibilities:

1.General Ledger & Closing

• Responsible for general ledger accounting of the German subsidiary
• Independently prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial closings in accordance with HGB
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet, P&L and cash flow statements
• Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis

2.Tax & Audit

• Support local tax filings (e.g. VAT returns)
• Act as contact person for tax advisors and auditors
• Support annual financial statements and audits
• Ensure compliance with German GAAP (HGB) and tax regulations

3.Group Reporting & Communication

• Prepare financial reports for group reporting purposes
• Regular communication with the finance team at headquarters in China
• Support group consolidation and IFRS adjustments (if applicable)

4.Processes & Systems

• Optimize financial processes and internal controls
• Work with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, DATEV)
• Cooperate with AP, AR, payroll and controlling teams

Expected qualifications & degrees and Professional experience:

1.Professional background

• Degree in accounting, finance or related field
• 3–6 years of experience in general ledger accounting in Germany
• Solid knowledge of German GAAP (HGB)
• Proven experience in independent month-end and year-end closings 

2.Skills and Abilities

• Proficient in ERP systems (SAP FI preferred, DATEV is common in SMEs)
• Excellent Excel skills
• Strong sense of responsibility, capable of working independently and cross-cultural communication.

3.Language ability

• German: B2–C1 (Able to independently liaise with tax authorities and auditors)
• English: Good (For group reporting)
• Chinese: Able to communicate effectively (Strongly a plus for Chinese-funded enterprises)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Chinese-owned enterprises/German-Chinese joint ventures' German subsidiaries
• Familiar with IFRS/Group financial statements/Consolidated financial statements
• Background in Steuerbüro/Big4/Auditing
• Experience in building the financial system of a German subsidiary from scratch
