Key Responsibilities
  • E-commerce Reconciliation & Revenue Recognition
  1. Retrieve transaction data from e-commerce sales; reconcile payment settlements against bank statements
  2. Perform revenue recognition, refund adjustments, and fee accruals in compliance with German Commercial Code (HGB) and IFRS
  3. Prepare weekly AR aging reports and monitor overdue receivables in the DACH region
  • European Invoicing & Tax Compliance
  1. Issue legally compliant e-invoices and credit notes in accordance with German §14 UStG and EU Directive 2014/55/EU
  2. Support VAT reconciliation for cross-border B2C/B2B transactions, including OSS/IOSS declarations
  3. Assist in the preparation of monthly VAT returns and Intrastat reports 
  • Accounting Support & System Maintenance
  1. Support on post AR-related journal entries in ERP system
  2. Maintain master data for German and EU customers, including payment terms and bank details
  3. Assist with intercompany reconciliations and month-end closing tasks
  • Documentation & Process Improvement
  1. Organize and archive invoices, payment proofs, and sales contracts for audit trail purposes
  2. Identify repetitive manual processes and propose automation solutions

Qualifications
Education & Experience:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field
  • Prior internship experience in AR, e-commerce finance, or a shared service center is a plus
  • Technical Skills
  • Basic understanding of German VAT principles and EU cross-border invoicing rules
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables); experience with ERP systems is a strong plus
  • English working proficiency required; German language skill (B1 or above) is highly desirable
