Customs Declaration Specialist

Customs Declaration Specialist

Location: Leipzig

Job responsibilities:

1. Customs declaration and clearance

• Responsible for import and export customs declarations within Germany and the European Union
• Review and prepare customs declaration documents，Including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, etc.
• Complete customs declaration using the online system.

2. Customs and Compliance Managemen

• Correctly classify HS Code/Zolltarifnumer
• Calculate and declare:

1. Tariff
2. Import Value Added Tax

• Ensure compliance with EU Customs Code (UCC) and German customs regulations

3. Customs Communication and Audit Response

• Maintain communication with German customs (Zollamt)
• Assist in handling customs inspections, tax payments, fines, and disputes
• Prepare for and cooperate with the Customs Audit

4. Internal and external coordination

• Collaborate with logistics, procurement, sales, and finance teams
• Coordinate freight forwarders, customs brokers and third-party logistics providers
• Support internal compliance processes and process optimization

 

Expected qualifications & degrees:

• Professional Requirements:

1. Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration or related majors
2. Or a relevant vocational training background in Germany (such as Speditionskaufmann/-frau).
3. More than 2 years of experience in German or EU customs declaration related work
4. Familiar with EU Customs Code (UCC) and German customs regulations
5. Those with experience in rules of origin and preferential tariffs will be given priority.
6. Familiar with online customs declaration systems
7. German requires a native speaker level of proficiency.
8. English can be used as a daily working language, enabling fluent oral and written communication with customs officers.
9. Those who can speak, listen, read and write Chinese will be given priority in the hiring process.
10. Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel)
