As propulsion system leader, we therefore support the automotive industry in creating environmentally friendly and efficient drives for passenger vehicles, light and heavy commercial vehicles, and construction and agricultural machines.

In this position you will be responsible as Software Engineer for our new line of products including electrical vehicle products. You will solve and coordinate all necessary technical issues during the development of the product within BorgWarner and towards the customer after a training period abroad. You will work and grow in a new electronics group, building a promising global technical center who will support projects and divisions all over the world. Laboratory facilities are available in the workspace. Proximity to a production plant, so that the result of the work can be seen directly. Support will be given from our strong technical centers located in Germany and Ireland. Direct contact with the customer and suppliers.
Software, Hardware, Integration and Mechanical Design departments work and interact very often in a multi-location environment (Portugal, Ireland, Spain, Germany).

Part of the job is to perform analysis of the software requirements given by the customer, design of software architecture:
  • Implementation of Embedded Software in C
  • Continuous improvement of Software Quality System.
  • And work with micro controller modules and drivers.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Specify, document and develop software solutions to control and interface the company’s range of automotive components with the customer’s vehicles and systems.
  • Implementation of software designs to automotive quality expectations utilizing existing development environments and processes.
  • Work with production to ensure design for manufacturing and test criteria are met.
  • Responsibility for creation of detailed software requirements documentation based on customer and internal specifications, reviews and clarifications.
  • Interface as required with external development partners
  • Support meetings internally and with customers to discuss technical issues
  • Support first tests of hardware team.
  • Support Design Validation testing and support the plant in Process Validation and End of Line testing.
  • Work in accordance to the Automotive Spice level assigned in the project.
