Global Energy Interconnection Research Institute Europe GmbH (GEIRI Europe) focuses on applied research into technologies for new energies and intelligent power grids. There is a Basic Research Center and an Engineering Center in GEIRI Europe. The Basic Research Center is engaged in the following research fields: Intelligent Sensing and Measurement (ISM), High-End Electrical Materials (HEM), and Energy Storage Materials and Technology (ESMT). Engineering Centre strives to continuously expand business in the European HVDC market to jointly shape the future of renewable energy. In these fields GEIRI Europe also cooperates with European industry and academic partners. GEIRI Europe’s goal is to improve the integration of renewable energies into the power grid.

Your challenges

  • Taking a leading role in the research and development of energy storage systems
  • Analyzing heat and mass transfer properties of energy storage devices
  • Optimization of designs of energy storage devices and systems
  • Assessment of the economic impact of the improved design


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Ph.D. degree in engineering, thermal physics, process engineering, or chemical engineering or comparable qualification
  • Profound professional experience in process engineering, and chemical engineering research work
  • Experiences in thermodynamics
  • Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CFD simulation software
  • Good knowledge in data analysis of heat transfer simulations and experiments
  • Fluent in spoken and written English, as you will be working together with English speaking partners
