  • Lead projects of directed enzyme evolution
  • Develop and validate high throughput screening assays for directed enzyme evolution; analyze data from screening assays 
  • Characterize enzyme performance in the context of biocatalytic process for small molecule synthesis (e.g. chiral drug candidates)
  • Work with fast-paced, cross-functional team members to drive the projects to success
  • Mentor junior scientists and manage research associates
  • Prepare project updates or reports, and communicate project progress internally and externally 
  • Prepare scientific part of patent applications
  • Report to VP of R&D Center


  • Master or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Enzymology, Biotechnology or related fields
  • Either PhD or 3+ years' experience in engineering enzymes and developing enzymatic processes for small molecule synthesis
  • Deep understanding of directed enzyme evolution
  • Experience in diverse enzyme classes for biocatalysts (e.g. oxidoreductases, transaminases, lyases etc.)
  • Excellent working knowledge and solid expertise in analytical methods development for small chiral molecules
  • Experience with laboratory automation and high throughput equipment (e.g. liquid handler) is a plus
  • Experience in project management is a plus
  • Strong communicator and presenter of scientific data
  • Excellent oral and written Chinese and English skills are required 
  • Proactive and collaborative in working in a dynamic, innovative, and interdisciplinary research environment
