Our Client is a worldwide leading supplier of safety-critical electric components. The most important applications in China are (for the protection and energy management of) battery-assisted industrial applications such as electricity storage (储能电站), solar/wind energies and AGV (无人搬运车), Forklift and Conveyor. To support their fast growth business and ambitious goal in China, we are looking for a sales-oriented Managing Director China to be based in Shanghai (sales office) and Shenyang (factory). 

Reporting line:

  • For business development, sales, and commercial matters to the Vice President Asia Pacific.
  • For operations, purchasing and supply chain to the COO of German HQ.
  • The total team consist of 40 blue & white color employees

Responsibilities:

  • Full P&L and operational responsibility for the subsidiaries in China.
  • Design and implementation of a comprehensive and sustainable business development strategy.
  • Develop a lean and market orientated sales organization (sales managers, application engineering, order management)
  • Sales ramp-up in targeted market segments (eMobility, Renewable Energies, Energy Storage Systems, DC-Industries, Green Technologies, Energy generation and conversion, Industry applications)
  • Transform product-oriented sales approach to solution-based sales (local production customized products and sub-systems)
  • Increase performance and production output in operations
  • Regular and accurate reporting to the German HQ and efficient communication between local and cooperate teams on group level.

Requirements

·         Degree in engineering with a major in electric, electronics, electromechanics or related. A degree in business administration could be nice to have, though not compulsory.

·         At least 10-year experience in management roles with P&L accountabilities, ideally with international exposure as the future job holder will have direct contacts to German HQ and the international group network.

·          At least 10-year proven track record as senior sales in business development and sales management including key account and contract management with electrical components (DC contactors or relays, power connectors, safety switches)

·         Has a clear industrial background and robust track record in initiating and managing organizational restructuring projects (Entrepreneurial mindset)

·         The candidate should be able to create a vision and design a winning business strategy to ensure consistent and sustainable growth in China.

·         The position calls for strong people and project management experience paired with appropriate business acumen and cultural awareness.

·         Engaged and pro-active people manager with an entrepreneurial mindset, able to get involved in details of both daily business and long-term strategy.

·         Result-driven and performance-orientated manager able to manage change with precision and accuracy.

·         Energetic, creative and solution oriented.

·         Chinese at mother tongue level; Very good English (speaking, reading, writing).

Previous experience with German business culture would be beneficial, though not compulsory.
