CEO Asia and MD Taiwan to be located in Taipei, Taiwan (must speak fluent English and Mandarin)

Our Client is a worldwide leading service provider in Waste Management for Construction Sites 建筑工地 and big events 大型集会 with more than 4,000 employees worldwide. They collect Waste from Construction Sites and Events Locations, process and dispose them in accordance with laws and regulations. They have currently more than 10 subsidiaries and about 200 employees (mainly drivers of trucks and sales/services staff) in Asia (without China). To support their fast growth in Asia, we are looking for an experienced CEO Asia/MD Taiwan to be located in Taipei, Taiwan (biggest subsidiary in Asia) to further develop the organization to be able to achieve the strategic and financial objectives of the group in Asia. He/she should provide leadership and develop the strategic direction of the company in Asia. He/she will be successor of the current CEO (retirement due to age). There is another Director of Finance Asia who oversees all Finance, IT, Legal and Compliance issues in Asia, and a Director of Operations Asia reporting to CEO Asia.

The CEO Asia reports directly to CEO of the Group in Europe. The CEO is responsible for leading the business and subsidiaries in Asia, including

  • Leadership: Provide clear leadership and further develop the organizational capabilities, incl. 1st & 2nd level management in every country, as well as developing the culture to ensure agreed targets are achieved.
  • Implementation of the agreed strategy and corresponding action plans for the countries
  • Development of the organization, especially personnel across all levels – to ensure that we have employee satisfaction and adequate coverage in key positions.
  • Delivery of full annual budget plan and business plans – including capex and cash flow plan for the entity.
  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. 
  • Sales – to ensure the group achieves profitable growth – in the selected countries and main markets of Construction & Events
  • Operations & Service Quality – ensure best in class operational efficiency incl. process optimization in dispatching, service levels & customer satisfaction
  • ESH aspects of the organization
  • Be an active participant in working within the Group Matrix Organization.


  • Experienced Manager who knows the South East Asia Region very well
  • At least University Degree in Business, Engineering or other related fields
  • Proven track record: Multi-Site, Multi-Country business with high degree of Service or Logistics.
  • Hands-on, down to earth mentality; can effectively plan, communicate and executes changes.
  • Process management – ensure aligned process discipline in the operational entities, ensure consistent data management
  • People Manager – capable to lead & to develop the team, capable to create enthusiasm & motivation
  • Analytical skills, Strong drive to achieve goals, result oriented, able to take decisions, Team approach
  • Capable of frequent travelling to different countries in (Southeast) Asia
  • Language: Very good English and Chinese (Mandarin), further dialects (especially Cantonese) and advanced Malaysian will be a plus, but not a requirement.
