Objectives of the Position

•Technical manager for localization of Engines and battery components (e.g. M282; M254; EB330)

•Technical support for life cycle management (e.g. M270; M274; M260; M264)

•Responsible for the development of local parts in cooperation with local suppliers

•Responsible for the development of global parts in cooperation with HQ and global suppliers

•Create technical solutions on NX, verify results in collaboration with R&D headquarter in Germany and save CAD-models in SMARAGD

•Support Change Management of engine parts of MB passenger cars

•Responsibility for Bill of Material (DIALOG)


Qualification required


-University Master degree in mechanical engineering (mechanical/engine/vehicle background)

-Educational assignments abroad


-Experienced in engine development or in automotive industry

-Master Graduate from technical College (FH)/University (TH)

•Specific Knowledge

-Knowledge of engine development and localization

-Self-responsible working attitude and initiative

-Intercultural competence and communication skills with various hierarchy levels

-Strong planning and organizational skills

-Very good English skills for technical negotiations;


Task description

•Responsible for design processes:

-Work according to the prepared process descriptions for daily design work

-Create in NX technical solutions for given tasks and save the results in SMARAGD

-Monitor the progress in regards of fulfillment in a timely manner and quality

•Managing design tasks together with local team members. Fulfill design related project targets in time.

•Evaluate and verify geometrical models with RD colleagues in the lead project

•Continuous Design knowledge improvement & technical skills Ramp up

•Support the German development division regarding local requirements for engine and battery documentation, change management and design tasks in order to fulfill the latest CN-/DAI- standards.

•Support of the on-time introduction of local and imported parts for our current and future Mercedes-Benz projects in China

•Work together with cross-functional departments like product planning, purchase, quality and logistics, set up project milestones as well as coordinate activities to pursue tight time schedules

•Support of mechanical or packaging based field problems in China.
